Rooted in nostalgia, kindled by curiosity
AZAR, has many meanings, it means “fire” in Persian, and “opportunity,” “luck” or “destiny” in Spanish, it also resembles the phonetics of the Spanish verb “asar” which means to grill. Azar captures the birth of our eclectic vision of an open-fire restaurant.
We are four friends from Aruba, The Netherlands, Peru and Venezuela who bonded over a gaucho grill in our backyard. Longing for the tastes and smells of our childhood and our travels. Back when all it took to feed our souls was an open flame and good company.
As luck would have it, one of us happens to be the Michelin-trained Chef responsible for the explosive Peruvian flavors of Lima Bistro, situated in downtown Oranjestad. This allowed us to create a space where we could combine our culinary heritage with our love for authentic flavors from all over the world. Using fire as our main ingredient, we take you on a culinary journey right from the heart of bustling Palm Beach.
